What people say...

What they say...

When I started working with Sarah I was hoping to improve my communication style and self-confidence, especially when dealing with difficult situations. As a result of working with Sarah, I feel empowered and capable. I feel that I might not always “have this” but everything I need to get there is inside me or can be accessed with support.

I feel honest and able to be myself and act with integrity as a leader, I don’t need to be somebody else with different values, attitude or capability. I feel calm, and more in tune with my surroundings and my own emotions.

Working with Sarah was truly transformational. I was expecting high-quality and challenging conversations but was not expecting it was going to impact me to this level. Sarah’s deep understanding of leadership really has shown through every session to help me elevate the performance of the team and establish a culture of accountability anchored in our core values.

Ana, Senior Leader

I feel so much calmer after having spoken to you! I cannot tell you how useful I found our conversation. It was the single most useful professional conversation of my career. Seriously. Everyone in a leadership position should get to speak with you. Thank you.

Ruth, Director and Coach

Having worked with Sarah for many years, I couldn't rate her more highly as a leader, a coach and a culture builder.
Sarah is a confident and inspirational speaker, coach, and trainer because she has such a deep understanding of the power of coaching in education and the transformative impact it can have, as she has witnessed under her leadership.

Judy Cooper, Head of School, Markham College, Peru

Working with Sarah as my coach has enabled me to carve out the time necessary as a head teacher to be reflective and maintain perspective and vision during challenging times. Sarah’s supportive and adaptive nature enabled me to navigate scenarios and situations that I was faced with and explore solutions that empowered me to move forward with positivity and motivation. I thoroughly looked forward to every session that I had with Sarah and came away from our sessions always feeling lighter and clearer about the path forward.

Laura Perry, Head of Junior High, Wellington College, China

My sessions with Sarah have been very helpful and I’ve reflected on my strategies and more. I'm always amazed at the questions that Sarah asks and the answers that they get! Coaching with Sarah brings me pivotal questions and time for me to reflect. It’s always felt very non-judgemental and supportive, but with concrete suggestions for strategies when needed.

Ali Talbot, Assistant Principal, Hills Road Sixth Form College

The experience of working with Sarah is an uncommon and highly skilful combination of warmth, unpatronising reassurance and support coupled with relentless introspection, challenge and a focus on self-leadership. There is nowhere to hide in these conversations but by the same token you are able to reach a level of comfort and candour that enables you to examine your motivations, consider your options and reach decisions with a sense of clarity that would be impossible alone or in dialogue with those directly linked to your working context.

My advice to anyone considering working with Sarah is that the process will be rewarding and affirming without doubt, but don't expect anything to be given to you! The process is about empowerment and growth, and these things come with a great deal of self-coaching in response to Sarah's observations of your narrative and to her follow-up questioning, which acts as a powerful catalyst for the changes you need to lead on.

Dave Potts, Head of Secondary, Dubai British School

Coaching has deepened my understanding of how key relationships are to the success of a school. It has transformed how I work with people, built trust and improved interactions across our whole organisation. Sarah's experience and knowledge of coaching, relationships and as a leader of an international school means she is able to give clear, practical advice which has had a significant impact in every aspect of my role.

Tom Verity, Director, Oasis Learning

We have worked with Dr Sarah Howling for many years... Her knowledge, credentials and skill at culture change are awe-inspiring... and she is a complete powerhouse.

Sarah is great to be around – enthusiastic and flexible in her approach, she carries people along with her visions and inspires them to realise their own. She is loyal, reliable and completely dedicated. We would unhesitatingly recommend her to work with people and organisations at all levels of seniority.

Carol Wilson, CEO Culture at Work

Sarah has fantastic leadership experience both in practice and in creating outstanding curriculum. Having been a head of several international schools, she fully understands how individuals learn and builds this into every aspect of the programmes she has developed. Her instinct about how to join the dots for others is impressive, she never rests on her laurels and has a continual improvement mindset.

She is highly professional, cares deeply about her craft and in helping people achieve results.

Sandra Pinnington, Founder of the Women Leaders Association

The course with Sarah really was transformational. It has changed how I work for the better. I have richer conversations where my team(s) find their own best solutions which they generally follow through on. My team(s) feel empowered and appreciated which deepens the relationship. I feel more able as a leader than ever before. Thank you!

Theone, Curriculum Director

After coaching with Sarah I aced my interview and got the job of my dreams!

When I started working with Sarah I had applied for many, many jobs and was trying, unsuccessfully, to return to full time employment after a partial career break to raise my children. I was walking away from ALL my interviews being told that I wasn’t relevant and that it would be difficult for me to return. I was feeling angry and frustrated as I knew I could do the jobs, and my self-esteem was getting lower and lower.

Working with Sarah was fantastic. I loved that she didn’t judge and she gently challenged and prodded me, and encouraged me to bloom. I learnt how to talk about my skills and strengths, powerfully share how I would contribute to the company, and how to structure my responses to best communicate my value. Within 2 weeks of working with Sarah I had a second interview with the CEO and was offered the job of my dreams on the spot!!

If you’re thinking about working with Sarah - go for it! Sarah’s approach is absolutely mind, body and spirit - I am now a convert that the three need to be aligned to present yourself in your total awesomeness.

Taryn Y. Marketing and Communications Director.

Coaching with Sarah was very helpful in enabling me to reflect and identify positive action to take. Sarah helped me to explore things very well with open questions and plenty of thinking time. This gave me the space to think and see things in new perspectives.

Sarah’s great at listening, reflecting back and picking up things that led me to explore issues and come up with different perspectives.

Ian Pryer, Assistant Principal, Hills Road Sixth Form College.

On the programme I’ve learnt to be more courageous and mindful in leadership. I don’t delay courageous conversations and now ensure that colleagues are feeling valued and heard. Really impactful stuff!

Curriculum Director

Many thanks for your support over the sessions we’ve had together. I have found it very helpful, your style and coaching has supported me through various tricky situations and no doubt a few to come. The time to think about and talk about leadership, and the challenges it brings us, is a luxury I am grateful for.

Karen, Executive Headteacher

Prior to working with Sarah, I was hardly being invited to interviews and on the rare occasions I was, I wasn’t getting any offers. I was spiralling into despair and hopelessness, and was full of feelings of not being good enough.

From the start, Sarah took a genuine interest in my career and the ambitions I held. Sarah was kind and thoughtful, and gave her time and energy unreservedly. As a result of working with Sarah, my CV is polished, my applications are enhanced and I have so much more confidence. I can recommend Sarah wholeheartedly - she is a genuine, caring, thoughtful mentor.
